Koori Voices
NSWFor the second year in a row we create a moment of introduction, listening and shared voice. Koori Voices is hosted by Dr. Jodi Edwards (NSW), a Walbanja Woman from the Yuin Nation with Dharawal Kinship ties.
Jodi is an author and story sharer, who has been sharing culture, nature and science for the past 20 years. She will story this session delighting in the company of three local and wonderful Koori Voices.
Take this moment to share in the music of up and coming acoustic and indie performer – Alara Livingstone. A proud young Yuin woman, who began her journey with singing in her earlier years, teaching herself guitar and here to perform for us all.
Spend time with the warm heated, angelic voice of Jiah King. A proud Waanyi and Pitta Pitta man, Jiah has recently completed his Degree in Business at UOW and looks forward to attending the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in the upcoming year as he takes the time to explore his musical expression and develop as an artist.
Be delighted in the relationship and sharing with Kyarna Rose, Yuin Nation. She has been enchanting the Illawarra and the nation as singer songwriter with a gifted voice and the ability to write songs that connect her life experiences with audiences. Kyarna has supported the late Uncle Archie Roach, Nancy Bates, Mahalia Barnes and Prinnie Stevens.
This session will open our hearts as we listen and share in these wonderful, local Koori Voices.
